Day 6

Not a good day. Started well, got extra hours at work which was good seeing as it was last day. But got home, received some news and that was it. I was so full of disappointment and pain that I didn’t want to do anything and I still don’t at the moment. Tried doing Meltdown this evening hoping it would make me feel better but it didn’t. Stopped after first set of 4th round meaning I didn’t even get to 2 workouts. Just really couldn’t be bothered. Though apart from pushups my numbers were up strangely.
Now though, I know I’m going to struggle to sleep.

Day 5

Today I put the weights up to 11kg for everything and it went very well. Though I am still feeling as if I can put more on them.

The supermarkets are being annoying though, all the healthy stuff is still full price and all the lovely tasty crap is currently half price lol. Typical. There were half price Frijj’s, choc chip cookies, ginsters pies, mccoys crisps, jaffa cakes, pepsi, every aisle had something on it for half price. I think I need to get some of the recipes Annette made up for making little ED friendly snack bars ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not sure if I’m eating too much fruit, have been a little bloated today.

Day 4

This app thing is very useful. Didn’t get round to writing my blog today and now I am laying wide awake in bed so I thought I’d write my blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Todays workouts went very well, numbers went up on the Meltdown. After reading Dax’s replies to a question I posted, I decided to up the weights and retest for the ICP. Now I have 11kg on each dumbbell and this felt much better. This means that after just 3 days I am using more weight than what I finished on last time I did MAP. I could probably still go higher, especially on the leg exercises. This might mean next week that I get the barbell out for legs and keep dumbbells for arms.

I was in Tesco today and went up the Christmas aisle, everything is now knocked down. I couldn’t believe it, there was a box of Thorntons mint chocolates, a big box, normal price ยฃ7, new price ยฃ1.75. At that price I just had to buy a box. Though they will remain sealed till after MAP and even then it will be a special treat ever now and then ๐Ÿ™‚

Looking forward to doing Meltdown tomorrow with the heavier weights ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 3

Wow, just downloaded a WordPress app for my Blackberry. Let’s see what it is like ๐Ÿ™‚

Certainly makes finding the opportunity to write the blog much easier. As I type, I have the Arsenal v Man City game playing on the laptop. It will also make it easier when I see things when out and about. No longer will I have to remember to put it in a blog later, but can just write it straight away. This ease will make it easier to keep the blog going after MAP has finished ๐Ÿ™‚

So, about today. Exercises went well, pecks still really ache but its not stopping my pressups. Numbers were up on the Meltdown and did the ICP 3 minutes faster than yesterday. I think I must have needed the first two days to warm the body up :). For my cardio, I needed to post back a DVD to Empire Film (who do not do a good service at all) so I jogged to the postbox. Oh how I ached afterward lol, jogging and me do not get on well at all, my legs ached, my back ached and I was almost down to a walking pace when I got back to the house.

I’m starting to now get that feeling in my mouth where I need to drink a whole bottle of Coke or eat lots of chocolate. Hopefully it will pass soon. I’m remembering back to 2009 where I went 7 months without any form of fizzy drink to help me get through it. Claire opened a large box of Thorntons earlier this evening, but as she couldn’t get the tape off, I ended up doing the opening. I had to have a smell, sooooo good, but I did not touch ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 2

Day 2 is coming to an end.ย  Most parts went pretty well today.

On the exercise front I completed the Meltdown, with higher scores than yesterday, the power circuit and 5 sets of the ICP.ย  I also played some more Dance Central, I’ll have all the achievements by the end of this programme ๐Ÿ™‚

My muscles did ache today though, a lot, but I am not going to let this effect the progress I make.ย  Also, at about 9:30pm I was starving, still am a little hungry.ย  Could easily have eaten anything at all but Claire helped me and cooked me up some eggs ๐Ÿ™‚

If we get a warmer day I was thinking of going in the garden and doing some skipping.ย  But rather than skip continuously, I was thinking of doing it to the Meltdown audio ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 1 Jan 3rd 2011

Day one is coming to an end.ย  It started with an early start for the Meltdown.ย  I opted to use 8.5kg DBs and found this to be a very good challenge.ย  I managed to fit in the Power Circuit before work and, as soon as I got back, I completed the ICP.

This evening, Claire and I played Dance Central on the Kinect.ย  This gives a bit more excitement to the workouts and was a good laugh.

Food today was good, no temptations to eat anything I shouldn’t, even with a table full of mince pies and freshly cooked sausage rolls in front of me ๐Ÿ™‚

To help with any sleeping problems, I am going to get up when Claire gets up for work tomorrow.ย  This should help me to get to sleep earlier ๐Ÿ™‚

Countdown Continues – Measurements and Photos

When I wake up tomorrow, MAP 2011 begins ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are my starting measurements –

  • Bodyweight – 77.3kg/170.4lbs
  • Chest – 37 inches
  • Upper arm – 12 inches
  • Belly button – 35 inches
  • Butt – 39.5 inches
  • Thigh – 4 inches above knee – 19 inches
  • Thigh – 8 inches above knee – 21.5 inches

As you can see, my body has kinda relaxed a lot :-(.ย 

So, how am I going to make better improvements than last time?

Firstly, I will start with 8kgย dumbbells.ย  I will also use the dumbbells for all leg exercises as well.ย  For the 4th session of the day, the cardio session, I thought that I would take advantage of the Kinectย and do workouts on that using either Your Shape or having a go at Dance Central.ย  That way I can workoutย and also build up my gamer score hehe ๐Ÿ™‚

MAP Challenge January 2011

Hello all and Happy New Year.

Having eaten way to much over the festive period, it was just right for me to sign up to the Dax Moy MAP Challenge starting on Monday the 3rd ๐Ÿ™‚

The program claims to make you lose between 15 and 20lbs in just 30 days.ย  This will be the target for me.ย  During June 2010 I managed to lose a stone and got myself into really good shape.

Here is how I looked at the end of that program ๐Ÿ™‚

I want to get back to looking like this or looking even better.

Tomorrow I will be posting pictures of how I look now, along with all my body measurements.
